Clinical Therapy

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness, involving focussed attention and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestions and enhanced / reduced peripheral awareness. When this concept is applied as a therapy to address wellness issues, then it is termed as hypnotherapy. Mechanisms such as guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention are used to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is also called a state of trance. In a state of complete relaxation, a person feels calmer and more relaxed and is more open to positive suggestions and affirmations. Once the person becomes more relaxed and calmer, the therapist communicates with the sub conscious part of the brain and gives positive suggestions relevant to address specific issues like stress, anxiety addiction and so on.

Regress to cause – used for hypnoanalysis of a problem

This is a methodology where the therapist takes the client back to the point in time using regression techniques to see when the cause of the current problem first originated and then addressing the issue appropriately

Parts Therapy

This is mainly used when there is an inner conflict that prevents the client from achieving the desired goals. This technique uses hypnosis to identify the conflicting parts that hinder the well being and then helps those parts negotiate with each other to arrive at a final resolution. For example, “I want to exercise in the mornings everyday but I am not able to” is a conflict. Parts therapy will help address this effectively.

Pain management

There are several studies that show that hypnosis interventions consistently produce significant decrease in pain associated with variety of both acute and chronic pain issues. This is majorly in the form of instructions through self hypnosis.

Mental and emotional issues through Hypnodrama

This is a simple yet very powerful technique for bringing about shifts in relationships. The process involves asking the person to do the role play in a state of trance and he is asked to rehearse, visualise and experience the kind of relation he wants more or less of under hypnosis. Idea is that their mental distortions are identified and removed, and many times help them vent out all their negativity towards the other person from mind and body and replace all that with opposite positive emotions or behaviour or response.

Inner Child

Most parents are very loving and care for their children in general and try to provide a stable and secure environment. However, sometimes, it may happen that the children grow up in toxic environments and being vulnerable and sensitive, these traumas are stored in the brain thereby in many cases having long lasting effects. Children who grow in such environments can sometimes develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The emotional pain they suffer as a child can manifest in several ways as they grow up and keep haunting them throughout their life. This inner child is present inside each one of us. Instead of addressing and healing the pain of this child inside us, generally we either forget and move on or we just don’t pay much attention to the cries of our inner child. Hypnotherapy helps connect with the inner child and make peace with what happened. The conflicts that reside in us deep in our subconscious due to childhood traumas gets effectively addressed through hypnotherapy.
